As a playwright, my work has been developed and presented at Ensemble Studio Theatre, Rattlestick, Primary Stages, Edinburgh Fringe, Culture Project, New Dramatists, La MaMa, HERE, Dixon Place, The Brick, Atlantic Stage 2, Fringe NYC, various New York apartments and subway stations, and Paris. Indie Theater Hall of Fame (“Person of the Year” 2012), PoNY nominee. Plays include Baby Mama: One Woman’s Quest to Give Her Child to Gay People (winner of the Dr. Robert J. As a producer, I’m Executive Artistic Director of Caps Lock Theatre and Associate Artistic Director-at-Large of The Brick. For Caps Lock Theatre, I curate and produce Pussyfest (featuring playwrights such as Jose Rivera, Mike Daisey, Sheila Callaghan, Rob Askins, Brooke Berman, and many others) and The Sex with Robots Festival. For The Brick, I curated and produced the Live Action Music Video Festival (featuring the work of Dave Malloy, Anne Washburn, The Lisps, and many others) and Fuckfest. I’ve also produced numerous fundraisers, including a Rocky Horror concert, a dance-a-thon, and multiple burlesque shows.
As a performer of many stripes, I’ve been onstage at Dixon Place, Ensemble Studio Theatre, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, San Diego's Diversionary Theatre, Provincetown Theater, Know Theatre of Cincinnati, 13th Street Rep, Parkside Lounge, Bowery Poetry Club, 49B Studios, Public Assembly, Filling the Well, Casa Mezcal Obra Negra, and Looking Glass Theatre. I’m a storyteller, actor, occasional rapper, burlesque dabbler, and I tap dance.
